I was excited to go here but very disappointed with my experience. Had reservations and arrived about 10 minutes early. They said they were cleaning off a table outside and it would be a few minutes. While we were waiting, several other groups walked in off the street and were seated immediately. I was getting ready to talk to someone when they said again that they were cleaning off our table. After about a 20 minute wait we were finally seated! To top it off, they sat us at a “table” that had been empty for at least 20 minutes. SMH. On to the FOOD: I had ribs, and at first they were excellent! They were cut into 3 parts of about 4 ribs each. The first one was oh so good. Nice and tender and moist. The meat fell off the bone. I picked up the next group and they were super tough and chewy like rubber. I had trouble pulling them apart. If I had cooked these I would have thrown them in the trash. I was about to complain but didn’t want to be a Karen so I picked up my final bunch of ribs and they were as good as the first ones. Most of our other food was OK. The pretzels with fondue cheese was great once we removed the cooled skin on top of the cheese and lit the candle to warm it up. ATMOSPHERE: Well, it was pretty busy and very loud. We were hit by the ping pong ball 12 times, screaming kids by the foosball table, watched one of the kids hitting and kicking all the other kids until my teacher wife gave him the teacher look and said play nice ( he started playing nice but was clearly unsupervised). I think a lot of the kids were coming from the playground next door which could be fixed with a better gate. Overall (finally) I don’t recommend Culinary Dropout. Oh yeah, the beer is good! My second beer was actually cold!

This restaurant has a great, spacious setting both indoors and outdoors, making it a perfect spot for both adults and kids to enjoy. With the cool morning weather in Austin today, sitting at an outdoor table for brunch was just perfect. The dishes we ordered, including the soft pretzel with provolone fondue, steak frites, Peking duck and shrimp fried rice, were all delicious and generously portioned. The drinks were a standout—especially the juicy watermelon spritz and the garden mule, both refreshing and flavorful. The staff were also hip and friendly, which added to the overall positive experience.

This was awesome.

Outside of my own, hands down the best Bloody Mary, I've had. Fish and chips was fantastic.

Decor is cool, vibe is cool, place is clean and the service is fantastic. This place is clearly working hard to be awesome and it shows. Loved every second, loved the service more than the excellent food and cocktails.

Go here. Enjoy.

Been here a few times now and each visit is better than the last. Every dish my group and I have ordered has been great and the cocktails are always well done. The service and atmosphere is top notch. One of our favorite places to eat at the Domain.

Wonderful service by Charise and the food was on point! I had dined at Culinary Dropout twice and did not really like it; the food did not stand out to me. But this time everything was delicious. My husband and I did the Austin Restaurant Weeks: 3 courses for $40 plus a glass of house wine. We had the pretzels with provolone and the feta with tahini dip appetizers, the tagliatelle bolognese entree, and chocolate mud pie and caramelized banana bar. Also, there was music live and the ambiance is great. I am definitely coming back!

Cute vibes and yummy looking menu. Very busy while we were there. The food options are interesting. If you have a picky eater it can be hard to find them something to land on. The drink menu was super good! Something for everyone there.

Our waitress didn’t check on us much and talked to us very rushed and in a hurry, but I can’t really hold it against her as they were busy. The runner not only dropped my friend’s drink on the table, but the cup shattered near us and sent glass flying everywhere! We get accidents happen, but we didn’t have anyone else come check on us, apologize, or even offer to comp something for the very dangerous accident. My friend is also a restaurant manager and was shocked their manager didn’t come check on us about it. Left a bad taste in our mouth.

Would still go back! Those drinks are great and my foodie husband appreciates the menu.

Had an amazing Chicken dinner here. I liked how each part of the restaurant was very different so you can come back, sit somewhere else and feel like you’re in a new place. Thank you to the managers who were kind enough to offer a meal during our Concert Fan Experience setup just outside their entrance. It really helped us out during our long and hot day. Good luck trying to pick out who works there, employees dress like staff. Lastly, finally met my name doppelgänger Matthew Sean. He was super cool and helpful.
