My daughter resided in two different apartment complexes while in College Station. Domain Northgate came highly recommended by another family, and they were spot on; it’s an excellent choice with just the right size—not too cramped or overwhelmingly large. Its location is ideal for college students, being within walking distance to the university, Kyle Field, Starbucks, and late-night dining options. The rooms, closets, and bathrooms offer ample space, and the staff is both professional and attentive. The manager genuinely aims to enhance the residents' experience, creating a welcoming atmosphere rather than a purely transactional one. It was comforting to know my daughter was seen as a valued resident rather than just another tenant. The amenities are impressive, particularly the gym, which is consistently fresh and clean—something I always notice upon entering apartment complex gyms. It truly was the perfect place for my daughter.

I lived here for one year and it was quite possibly the worst experience. There were countless times where I had roaches crawling around the unit (even in the first week of moving in) and when I sent a message to the office they did nothing. I even put in a request to get rid of them but they still did not do anything so I had to use roach traps to get rid of them. And during the move out process, I was charged an obscure amount of money and they would not waive anything at all. The management was terrible as they did not do anything about towing, noise issues, and they overall did not show great attitude. The only good thing I have to say about this place was the maintenance staff who were extremely friendly and mindful of the residents. But halfway through the year, they fired the head of maintenance who was the best employee they had. I have lived at Lark and The Standard and I can say that both of those places were 10x better.

Roaches, roaches, and more roaches! So many that they should have to pay rent and be on the lease, too. This morning my daughter woke up to a roach sharing her bed (pic attached). The building is absolutely infested. They are in the walls, behind appliances, and freely roaming the halls. All that’s being done about it is the maintenance will come and spray the apartment. That will NOT treat an infestation, it will only temporarily keep them out of the unit and they will move to the next apartment for a few days. The entire building and each individual unit needs to be treated by pest professionals with baits and gels that will kill the colonies. I’ve seen the other reviews complaining about roaches, and the polite reply from management expressing their concern and stating that the issue is being resolved. It is NOT. Spraying some baseboards is not enough. Future renters, stay away. Current residents, please post your reviews and maybe management will actually get this fixed.

honestly really close to rating domain 1 star. This is my third year living here and just because I was not able to get out of my lease. There is construction everywhere which does not allow me to walk or drive outside the apartment complex. The noise of construction is horrible and does not allow me to study during the day. I have also had the same carpet in my room since before even moving in and they are absolutely disgusting because even when I try to clean it, the stains do not come off.

I am a current resident here and I only resigned to live here next year because it's really close to campus. The biggest thing is the roaches. They are everywhere. I know people who live on the third floor and they are moving out because the Domain can't get it under control. My friend also lives at the Domain as well and he has them too, they are all over the building.
Another problem is parking. The Domain allows their residents to park in guest parking which allows no space for guests to park. And if they park at the top of the garage, they will get towed. Which not only puts a nuisance on me trying to find a spot for my guests but also on them having to wait until a spot clears up.
If you ever have a guest visit, good luck on trying to find a spot for them to park.
Also the amenities never work, I asked when the grill and fireplace will start working and they said they had no idea. The tanning booth door is always locked.
The only reason why I didn't rate it one star is because the maintenance is very friendly and it's close to campus.

This apartment complex scams its student residents. They have to pay for the full month but can’t move in until the 15th. They claim the lease is based on 12 “installments” instead of monthly but rent is due on the first of each month for 12 months which is the very definition of monthly. To move in “early” costs an extra $300+ to move in for the two weeks you paid for already!
Absolutely pathetic business practice!

I lived here for fa23-sp24 term. Its location is amazing but the apartment has a huge bug problem. When I first moved in there was fleas or something everywhere that I had to call pest control on and then throughout the leasing term I had a lot of roach problems. They are everywhere!!!

I lived with a roommate in a two bedroom for one year. (Senior year)

Pros
-Workers here are very nice and helpful. The staff have gone above and beyond for me and my roommate.
-Maintenance was always so quick to respond and very helpful
-Location is ideal for walking to campus/bars/Kyle
-Option to pay for assigned covered parking
-Great study area with Starbucks coffee machine and printer
-Spacious living room, kitchen, bathroom
-Furnished
-For a college apartment, they actively try keep the common areas clean even though a good portion of the college students were extremely disrespectful and trashed the common areas (spilling beer on the hallway floors and leaving empty cans everywhere)

Cons
-There is no closing time for the pool and the workers leave so there have been many many times that people have been out until 2 am blasting music and screaming. Every time that happens (which is a lot), I call the non-emergency police line and they send someone over to shut it down. Every time I have had to call, the non-emergency line worker has told me they have gotten multiple calls from other residents so that tells you how bad it is. There are no rules for noise (that I know of or are enforced) so it can be impossible to study here if people decide to drink and play loud music at the pool that day.
-If you do not live on the top floor, you will be able to hear everything above you. Our top floor neighbors had a large dog that was incredibly loud. We think they would play fetch with it in the apartment because the banging was so loud and hard it would shake our ceiling fans. My roommate and I left several notes (even one time with cookies) to let them know that the noise level was extremely loud but it never got better. I would highly suggest to the apartment complex that they not allow residents with medium to large-sized dogs to live in apartments that were not on the ground-level.
-For an apartment on Northgate (I lived at another complex on Northgate previously for 2 years), there is a good amount of guest parking. The problem is that it will all be taken up by residents so there aren't any spots left for actual visitors.
-I'm not sure if everyone here experienced this, but our apartment frequently smelled like weed. My roommate and I always had to keep wax melters/candles going. The smell was especially bad in our bathrooms so I assume the smell came from the vents in there.
