They said reach us back and when i call back they told me yıu are the third person calling today with same issue, it doesnt matter whatever you say. It is ridiculous!!! I also emailed they never answered!!!
If you want to live in an apartment where your belongings are constantly stolen and you plan to leave your deposit with the management upon moving out, then this apartment is for you!
They claimed they would charge a fee if we didn't clean the apartment, but despite us cleaning it, they still charged us a fee. Additionally, the photos they took of the apartment do not match the ones I have, which raises further suspicion. Today, August 6, 2024, I talked with Liliana, but I don't think she will take any action. It’s not personal, but it is not professional. They are so nice and good people until you sign the lease agreement. We paid $800 and they only refunded $136, which is ridiculous. I will not stop until I get my money back!
I am attaching the photos from before we moved out so you can see them. It's even cleaner than the first day!

Liliana has been amazing with my application process and has had the best customer service. She has gone over and beyond to make sure I got everything that I needed to submitted. She has helped me every step of the way in the process. I am very excited to move in to my apartment.

Beware! False information and misleading sales practices. We were shown a unit and told of a move in “concession” and even how to apply correctly to get it. After move in, to find out that- no they don’t tell us that the concession (move in bonus )was for another unit only , that renovated means only counters and towel racks - even though we were shown new appliances in the model unit, glad to show us brand new washer and dryers, dishwasher etc - free of another tenants grime. They act like it was a misunderstanding but it’s clearly misleading on purpose. So we were invited to pay more for an “renovated” apartment that is clearly less quality than what we’re shown or promised.
Now we were taken advantage of by misleading sales practice, paying $250/month extra for a Non-renovated unit, and missing the move in bonus we were told of $1000. Both factors strongly influenced our decision on this property and the unit. Now the lease is signed and moved-in it’s just “oops, sorry”. Totaling around $5000, infuriating ! If we were given the accurate info, and shown the actual unit we leased we would have chosen differently
They generally have a very high crime rate of car theft and break ins, and delivery package theft. They make no effort to improve on the safety or security which is nonexistent. Allowing this area to become a prime target unfortunately for these crimes to reoccur, feeling very unsafe. Multiple cars have been stolen completely from within the “gated” garage so it only provides a false sense of security.
Maintenance is incompetent and couldn’t fix the lock on our front door after moving in, as nice as the electronic keypad functions, they don’t have it mounted correctly (missing screw) so it doesn’t lock half the time when you think it does - excellent work. The grills by the pool as well look like a beautiful area to enjoy but neither has functioned for over a year, so the whole summer passed without the grills working. But again, they’re very pleased to show you on a tour and list it as their property amenities you’re paying extra for.
I would not recommend anyone I know to move in to this property.

Reached character limit with updates so consolidating and adding new update:
Be wary of positive reviews. The leasing office is asking people that tour the property but don’t live here to review to boost reviews. And the leasing office people are also leaving positive reviews (I recognize the names).
I’ve lived here for 2 years. Management changed sometime in 2022 and the new management is very difficult to deal with. They don’t do much other than give tours. They will not help with resident issues and expect residents to handle everything amongst themselves.
Package theft has been more pervasive than before (this has always been an issue). Leasing office does not help with these issues, you have to deal with the carriers yourself or depending on how big the item is, deal with police yourself (which prob won’t go anywhere). If you inform the leasing office of a missing item or ask about a package they’ll just say “we can’t do anything” and tell you to deal with carrier yourself. So be prepared to talk to a lot of customer service people to get your packages sent again and be prepared to risk your Amazon account being frozen from the amount of returns you’ll have to do. Leasing office will literally use any excuse to not help you.
In general, I like the apartments because they’re big and spacious. Noise isn’t bad here, it’s pretty quiet. You will live peacefully if you don’t have to interact with the leasing office or as long as you don’t have anything shipped to you.
11/8-11/10/24: the gate broke and there was a shrill alarm going on for literally 72 hours, non-stop. I called the leasing office many times with no answer, I emailed about it and while email was answered, nothing has been done. I had to go in-person to demand they fix the gate so the alarm would stop ringing. I added video of how the alarm sounded. Google trimmed one video that was 4 min of straight ringing down to 30 seconds.
1/30-1/31/24: Shrill alarm started up again around 11 PM on the 30th because the gate broke again. On morning of 31st, noticed the gate was partially open all night with the alarm sounding. I think that’s a very clear indicator that the courtesy patrol is actually non existent since no one noticed a lot earlier. Photo of gate partially opened this morning when I was trying to leave (couldn’t get out)
2/21/24: Package theft still going strong. Two packages were stolen from the “secure” Luxor room and the boxes were left empty. The door to Luxor didn’t actually lock so anyone can just walk in.
3/24/24: All the hallways and front doors are being repainted. The paint job is subpar and they left my door looking really bad. Picture attached.
9/12/24: partner has been emailing leasing office, specifically leasing manager, over some reasonable accommodations he requires. He’s filled out all the required paperwork and he’s been ghosted for over a month. Completely unprofessional and ableist.
10/22/24: doorbell camera caught someone casing my apartment at 1 & 2 AM and then they stole my doormat at 3 AM. Doormat is of little value but this shows that security at domain is lax and not taken seriously. Photos attached.

I lived here for two years, and honestly, it was the worst living experience I’ve ever had. The apartments are super worn down, with mold, broken appliances, and sloppy, unfinished touches everywhere. For example, in the bathroom, the caulking was so poorly done you could see mold peeking through while you're in the tub. The common areas outside are also filthy most of the time. I can probably count on one hand how many times I saw the place actually clean.
The tenants with dogs were some of the most inconsiderate people I’ve ever dealt with. People would let their dogs pee on the carpet and leave poop in the hallways, and even after multiple complaints from residents, it took almost a year before management finally cleaned the carpets or thought about replacing the floors.
Speaking of management, it’s an absolute disaster. They’ve been bought out so many times, and the turnover is ridiculous. As I was moving out, one of the new employees even told me to write bad reviews about the current manager so she could take her job—some seriously shady stuff. Oh, and a few years ago, the FBI raided the place because someone had a meth lab. True story, you can look it up online.
On top of that, they kept charging me for almost a year for a guest parking spot I never had, and every month I complained, they’d say, “No worries, we took care of it,” but it never got fixed.
Overall, this place is overpriced, management is a mess, and honestly, the best thing I ever did was move out. What a breath of fresh air that was.

If you are considering moving to Domain.. DON'T! Please please please listen to these reviews. Domain is not worth your hard earned money. I wish I could give them 0 stars.
My husband and I left a beautiful space in Little Italy so I could be closer to work, and it wasn't long after moving into Domain that I regretted that decision. I would have happily dealt with the traffic going south to Little Italy vs. the issues we dealt with during our year living at Domain.
During our walk-through, they will strategically take you through the complex and avoid the worst areas. The lack of airflow in the summer months makes the hallways extremely stuffy and hot, making you start sweating the second you step outside of your door. The stairwells are usually filled with trash and pet urine or worse. The fobs used to open the garage don't work half the time, and when you go to get it replaced, they are out of new ones and you're basically SOL. Your packages will constantly be delivered to the wrong package room, stolen, or not delivered at all because they make it so difficult for anyone to access the package room. Despite being a non-smoking complex, and the SEVERAL complaints I sent - including staff members - you will constantly smell smoke coming in from nearby apartments and in the alley. Which during the summer months force you to shut your windows and run your AC, costing YOU money.. not them.
Do not be fooled by the space of the apartments, or their "upgrades". These apartments are poorly run, the leasing office is less than helpful, and you will pay an outrageous amount when you can find somewhere much nicer (and for less!).
Upon moving out, we have had the same issues that several others expressed. The cleaning fee and carpet cleaning fee we were charged were expected, as we did not have the time to clean the apartment ourselves. However, we were charged $340 for a full apartment painting which is absolutely ridiculous. We hung very few things on our walls, and several of the things we hung were with command hooks, which left no holes in the walls at all. When asked for photos and an itemized invoice of the painting (like they provided for the apartment cleaning and carpet cleaning) they stated they had not received one yet from the painters. So how can you charge someone for a painting fee when you haven't even received the invoice yourself? SHADY. I have now asked at least 3 times for this information, and it has not been provided. I keep receiving voicemails from Domain wanting to discuss my "concerns", instead of providing me the documentation I've requested. They have offered to set up payment arrangements, which is not the issue. They have offered the $100 courtesy gesture, like others mentioned, which is not the issue. I WANT PROOF, which they are not willing to give.

Toured some units at the complex today with Tati from the leasing office. All I can say is: give that lady a raise! She was extremely helpful, joyful, and professional. We encountered a few residents during our tour, and Tati knew each one of those residents by name. This is a testament, to us, of the level of customer service that is standard here at Domain.
The corridors of the complex were clean & smelled amazing as were the interiors of the units we toured. Very spacious and modern. Amenities are solid.
We are excited to see what the Domain has in store for us as future tenants here.
And I repeat, give her a raise! Outstanding job. Very good impression left on my wife and I.

I had a great experience talking with Monica from Domain. She was super helpful and patient with all my questions, especially around concerns about package security and safety in the area. Monica was really transparent and honest, explaining what they've been doing to address these issues, which I really appreciated.
Even though I ended up deciding to stay in La Jolla this year, I was impressed by how responsive and friendly she was throughout the whole process. If I move to Kearny Mesa in the future, Domain will definitely be one of my top choices! Thanks again, Monica!
