Living in the heart of Oakland has its perks and drawbacks. I’m originally from Washington, D.C. but Domain Oakland has felt like home away from home. I came in one Tuesday morning in April with a request for a unit with a quick turnaround time. I was greeted by three charming, stylish, handsome gentleman representing the essence of Oakland. All three gentlemen collectively ensured that I had a smooth transition into my new home. Devon Sims is a ball of professional energy! He is the first line of contact whenever I have issues with missed packages, updated maintenance requests, key fobs, Active Building issues, resident networking events, etc., you name it! Shoutout to our security company as well! They don’t play when it comes to unauthorized vehicles on our premises; they will tow you! All in all, I am having a far more pleasant experience than many of my fellow Oakland neighbors are.

I just wanted to say a big thank you for showing me around your amazing apartment complex! The experience surpassed my expectations, particularly due to Tianti’s outstanding presentation of the apartments. Every detail, from the beautifully designed studio units to the exceptional amenities, including the state-of-the-art fitness center, appealing outdoor grill area, and inviting communal spaces, greatly impressed me.

Tianti’s professionalism and genuine demeanor added a sense of authenticity to the remarkable establishment, and I truly appreciate His openness in sharing his life's challenges and dreams. It was truly inspiring.

Management is terrible. It's not an exaggeration when you see all the other terrible reviews talk about the fire alarms going off every other week. Or about the elevators breaking down at lease once a month. Or about things being stolen and management not giving the smallest damn in the world to help. They don't know how to communicate, as they've left many emails unresponded to, and they are there to simply past the day by. If you see a good review based off of a tour guide, don't trust it, that's literally their only job. The actual living conditions are unacceptable for such a high cost rent. Go with your other choices.

I lived at Domain for ~2 years, had an ok time. The people working there are stretched thin (chronically understaffed) but generally kind and helpful. Windows are big, appliances aren't the newest. They have a peloton that sometimes works.

None of the elevators are reliable. Sometimes, you'll have to use the elevators on the opposite side of the complex from your apt. Other times the elevators won't open on the first floor at all. Sometimes the doors aren't stuck open or stuck closed, they just sit halfway open with the lights off mocking you for hoping you could easily go up to your apartment. If you have any accessibility differences that make climbing a flight of stairs impossible for you, I strongly recommend looking at another building.

There isn't a sense of community at Domain, and it's evident by the amount of neighbors that let their dogs off leash to pee and poop on the first floor D wing. Just because it's open to the air doesn't mean it's actually outdoors, but they don't care.

They can hire security to sleep at the front door, but can't get someone to cross reference license plates before towing cars from the garage. But they CAN pay the tow truck to visit every night in search of missing placards right? I got home at 10pm one night and forgot to put the little placard up (I keep it off because as a woman, I don't like advertising where I live & park my car). By 12am that night my car was towed out the garage, even though I was parked in my assigned spot with the car I registered with the building. But yea, this is the fairest and most efficient way to keep the garage for paying tenants only.

For a similar price, there are newer, safer, and better managed buildings up the street.

I had a great experience on my tour visit. Tianti was great and explained me everything I need to know. Tianti was professional and help me break down every cost I have to pay. The apartment complex was beautiful and room has all the equipment I needed. I recommend this apartment complex and highly recommend Tianti to be your tour guide.
